Richard Parsons

Richard Parsons is a licensed clinical professional counselor who has practiced in a variety of community agency settings in Northern Illinois for more than 25 years.

Working in a variety of modalities with individuals, groups, couples, and families, he has helped people face numerous life and mental health challenges.

He has also served in several administrative roles, involved in program development and evaluation, as well as the clinical supervision of other counselors in the programs he has directed.

Richard has worked with Catholic Charities’ Counseling program since 2008, directing the Community and School Counseling programs since 2017.  Working with Catholic Charities has allowed the flourishing of Mr. Parsons’ clinical interventions, integrating individualized care that incorporates and mobilizes the whole person–mind, body, and spirit–in the process, of change, growth, and healing.

He earned a master’s degree in counseling from Northern Illinois University and is also a certified Mental Health First Aid instructor with the National Council for Behavioral Well-Being.
