St. Elizabeth Catholic Community Center – Adult Services Programs
Program Coordinator for Volunteers/HIRE/Clothing Closet – Full-time

St. Elizabeth Catholic Community Center in Rockford is seeking a highly organized, adaptable, compassionate individual to coordinate the Volunteer/HIRE/Clothing Closet activities in the Adult Services Program.  The successful candidate will be motivated and possess good written and oral communication skills. competency with computers, and the ability to work with staff, volunteers, and community agencies to ensure the effective operation of these programs. Responsibilities include recruiting, onboarding, and training of volunteers, including maintaining files and completing reports; provision of employment support and preparation including resume building, soft skills, classes, and job search training; and the operation of the clothing closet, including receiving and unloading donations, and clothing display.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); a minimum of six months of supervisory or volunteer management is preferred. Must have a valid Driver’s License and insurance.  Requires adherence to the ethical and moral norms of the Catholic Church and its principles of charity and justice.

Professional Counselor (McHenry)

Catholic Charities – Diocese of Rockford – Social Services seeks a full-time or part-time master’s (MA, MS, MSW, etc.) level clinician(s), preferably licensed (LCPC or LCSW), to provide counseling for students, and support and consultation for teachers and staff in Catholic grade schools, and community clients in our McHenry office.

The ideal candidate will be flexible and organized, possess excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, and function professionally, ethically, and independently. Participate in clinical supervision, training, and professional development; complete all documentation and work as a liaison with parishes, schools, and community agencies to identify and respond to emerging or shifting needs.

Candidates must be Catholics in good standing, whose professional work is informed by principles of Catholic Social Teaching: Dignity of the Human Person, the Common Good, Solidarity, and Subsidiarity.

Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus, but not required; you must possess a valid Illinois driver’s license.

Immigration Caseworker

Catholic Charities – Diocese of Rockford – Social Services seeks a full-time (37.5 hr./week) Caseworker for the Immigration Program. The successful candidate will be highly motivated with written and oral communication skills in English and Spanish, competency with computers, and familiarity with Microsoft Office. Responsibilities include assisting clients in the preparation of applications and petitions for submission to the United States Citizenship and Immigration Service.

Bilingual English-Spanish required and a willingness to work with interpreters for other languages; High school diploma or GED required; three to six months of related experience and/or training preferred and adherence to the ethical and moral norms of the Catholic Church and its principles of charity and justice.

Bilingual Outreach Caseworker

Catholic Charities – Diocese of Rockford seeks an employee for the Bilingual Outreach Program. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, caring, compassionate, and have a passion for working with the Spanish-speaking community. Using advocacy, translation, support, and referrals, the caseworker will assist individuals to access and utilize the services and programs of the area to strengthen the family/individual. Outreach to Spanish-speaking individuals, families, community organizations, and parishes is essential. Individuals must have excellent communication skills and speak and write fluently in Spanish and English.

This position can be full or part-time and is based in the Aurora and/or McHenry Catholic Charities office.
