Laurie Larsen

Laurie joined Catholic Charities in 1989 as a part-time Case Manager working with pregnant and parenting adolescents.  Her position quickly grew to full-time to meet the need for these services.  Laurie’s work with teenage parents continues today in the Pregnancy and Parenting Programs.

Laurie received her bachelor’s degree in social work from Luther College in 1980.  Her work has always focused on families; beginning with the Gerard Treatment Programs in Mason City, IA, and then with Family Advocate in Rockford from 1981 until she came to Catholic Charities.  Laurie has worked with adolescents for much of her career, including those who have experienced physical and sexual violence.

At Catholic Charities, Laurie has served as Supervisor of the Emergency Assistance Program and Bilingual Outreach while maintaining her work with adolescent and adult parents. Laurie currently serves as Program Director for the Pregnancy and Parenting Programs and heads up Catholic Charities efforts to bring awareness and educate on the issues of domestic and sexual violence including human trafficking.
