Community Counseling

At Catholic Charities, our counseling program is ready to respond to the needs of individuals, couples, and families, helping them to face, manage, and resolve a wide range of challenges.  Our staff are committed to providing quality, affordable care that is individualized and confidential.  Using effective counseling approaches, we work with a variety of issues such as anxiety, depression, losses, family, and adolescent issues.

Catholic Charities counseling offers a variety of services in several community locations in the diocese.  The counseling department offers a sliding fee schedule to serve all people regardless of their faith or their ability to pay.

All program counselors are Catholics in good standing, faithful to the teachings of Jesus Christ and the Catholic Church regarding the sanctity of life and the truths concerning Christian marriage and human sexuality.  All counselors have at least a master’s degree and are licensed with the Illinois Department of Professional Regulation.

GRIEF SUPPORT GROUPS

“Blessed are they who mourn,
for they will be comforted.”

Matt, 5:4

Have you or a loved one experienced a recent loss in your life?  Perhaps you are grieving a death, experiencing divorce or its aftermath, working through unemployment or finding your family size changing as your children grow.  Grief occurs throughout our lives as we encounter losses and often it helps to share our feelings with others, and find support, renewed hope and discover deeper meaning for our lives, and to reconnect with our families and our communities.

The group is facilitated by a licensed professional counselor.  A brief telephone interview is provided before joining the group, and good will offerings are appreciated.  Please consider attending and, if you have any questions, call the Catholic Charities office at 815-344-6956.  Unfortunately, there is no childcare available.
